Governor Ducey Appoints Edmund Marquez to Rio Nuevo District Board
The Rio Nuevo District was informed Friday June 19, 2015 that Governor Doug Ducey has appointed Tucsonan Edmund Marquez to the Rio Nuevo Board of Directors. Mr. Marquez is the current owner and principal of Edmund Marquez Allstate Insurance Agency, a business he has owned and operated for almost 20 years. Edmund is the former Chairman of The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as well as a University of Arizona and Sabino High School graduate, Hispanic Businessman of the Year and a member of Congresswoman McSally’s transition team.
Of this appointment, Governor Ducey said that “Edmund’s extensive business background, coupled with the strong reputation he’s built throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona, will be of great value to Rio Nuevo. He’s a welcome addition to the Board and will continue be a tremendous asset to the community.”
Upon his appointment Mr. Marquez said that “I am excited and honored to be part of the new Rio Nuevo Board. Fletcher McCusker and the Board have done an amazing job recreating Rio Nuevo, and heading it in the right direction. With all of the great development happening (restaurants, housing, entertainment, etc), I am looking forward to helping our downtown continue to blossom.”
