Jannie Cox provides a rich tapestry of community service and leadership during her 47 years in Tucson.
She received her R.N. from the James Ward Thorne School of Nursing at Northwestern in Chicago, IL.
She spent most of her career (26 years) at Carondelet Health Network, as CEO of Carondelet Foundation. Cox serves on the Board of Compass Bank and is a member of Southern Arizona Leadership Council (SALC). She has served on numerous non-profit boards, including United Way, Junior Achievement, The Gregory School, Arizona Theatre Company, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Arizona Strategic Plan for Economic Development (ASPED), America Israel Friendship League, U of A College of Nursing Advisory Board, Wellness Council of Tucson, Community Food Bank, Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, GTEC, Tu Nidito and the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson. She is the founder of Meet Me at Maynards, a free weekly downtown walk/run, which brings 4-500 active adults and families each week…210,000 in its more than nine-year existence. Cox’s priority for the Rio Nuevo MFD is attracting private investment to build a safe and vibrant downtown for Tucsonans, and one that enhances our tourist industry.
