Jannie Cox provides a rich tapestry of community service and leadership during her 40 years in Tucson. She received her R.N. from the James Ward Thorne School of Nursing at Northwestern in Chicago, IL. She spent most of her career (26 years) at Carondelet Health Network, as CEO of Carondelet Foundation. Cox serves on the Board of Compass Bank and is a member of Southern Arizona Leadership Council (SALC). She also serves on the advisory board for Tucson Interfaith Council. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, including United Way, Junior Achievement, St. Gregory School, Arizona Theatre Company, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Arizona Strategic Plan for Economic Development (ASPED), America Israel Friendship League, U of A College of Nursing Advisory Board, Wellness Council of Tucson, Community Food Bank, Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, GTEC, Tu Nidito and the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson. She is the founder of Meet Me at Maynard’s, a weekly downtown walk and run and Rock the Ages promoting fitness for the over 50 crowd. Cox’s priority for the Rio Nuevo MFD is building a safe and vibrant downtown that invites and attracts private investment.
