The Beach Boys Celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of the Tucson Convention Center
As the Beach Boys mark more than a half century of making music, the group continues to ride the crest of a wave incomparable in America’s musical history. The Beach Boys have become synonymous with the California lifestyle and have become an American icon to fans around the world. In celebration of the newly remodeled Tucson Convention Center Arena, The Beach Boys will showcase the new sound, lights, seats, concessions and breezeway funded by Rio Nuevo. The concert is scheduled for January 3, 2015 at 8:00 PM, doors will open at 6:00 PM
The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with,Jeff Foskett, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of the iconic American band. This concert will not feature Brian Wilson, Al Jardine or David Marks. Love’s role as the band’s front man sometimes overshadows his stature as one of rock’s foremost songwriters. “Surfin’,” The Beach Boys’ first hit came from his pen. With his cousin, Brian Wilson, Love wrote the classics “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I GetAround,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “California Girls” and the Grammy-nominated “Good Vibrations.” Years later, he showed he still had the lyrical chops by co-writing the irresistible and chart-topping “Kokomo.”
Tickets are only $25.00 and $35.00 plus fees for floor seats. Mike Love personally invites you to become a Beach Boys VIP and sit in on their sound check, then come backstage for a preshow party. There will be a Q&A, some cool memorabilia, and a photo op! The Beach Boys are available on a first come/first serve basis.
